About Guitar Trax

In 2006 BHP Music-Guitar Trax Records was founded by multi Emmy Award winning guitarist/composer Brian Tarquin. The label releases the Guitar Masters Series featuring guitar legends: Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, BB King, Santana, John Paul Jones, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Zakk Wylde, Leslie West, Billy Sheehan to name a few. In 2019 Orlando in Heaven received a Global Music Gold Award for “Best Album.” The releases Guitars For Wounded Warriors, Orlando in Heaven and Guitars for Veterans all received ‘Best Album Of The Year’ nominations, three years in a row (2016-2019), from the Independent Music Awards. They feature such world-class shredders as: Steve Morse, Larry Coryell, Mike Stern, Billy Sheehan, Gary Hoey, Bumblefoot (Guns N’ Roses), Reb Beach (Whitesnake), Hal Lindes (Dire Straits), Chris Poland (Megadeth) and Chuck Loeb (FourPlay). Tarquin also produced and engineered bassist Randy Coven’s last recordings, Nu Groove featuring Leslie West in 2010.

In 2017 Orlando in Heaven peaked at #6 on the Relix Jam Band Charts and Band of Brothers, topped at #21 on the Metal Contraband Charts. Orlando in Heaven was a special project featuring an incredible cast of musical virtuosos playing their hearts out for the Pulse victims in Orlando. Partial Proceeds donated to Catholic Charities of Central Florida. They provide case management and supportive services for victims and family members of the Pulse shooting in Orlando. Also in 2017 the label released Band of Brothers, featuring Phil Naro from Billy Sheehan's band Talas, Brian Tarquin and drummer Reggie Pryor. The album features guest appearances by such world-class musicians as vocalist Jeff Scott Soto (Journey), Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal (Guns N’ Roses), Trey Gunn (King Crimson), Jeff Watson (Night Ranger), Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake), Gary Hoey, and Tony Franklin (Jimmy Page, The Firm). Partial Proceeds from the sales go to the Fisher House Foundation, http://fisherhouse.org who supplies housing to veterans’ families while they are hospitalized.

The label owns an extensive analog/digital studio located in the beautiful New York Catskill mountains called Jungle Room Studios where many of the releases are recorded and mixed.  It features a classic 1980’s British Trident 24 recording console, an Otari MTR 90 2” Analog Tape Machine, a vintage Ampex 440c 1/4” 2 track analog tape machine, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Final Cut Pro, a plethora of plug-ins and many pieces of classic outboard gear as, the Neve Compressor 33609, Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Buss Processor, Neve 1074, Chandler ltd Germanium Compressor and a host of other gear including an array of microphones, guitars, keyboards & amplifiers.
